How we measure Perplexity
A data provider sends each question and your country to a Perplexity model and returns the answer with its sources. We do not collect it from the Perplexity website, so answers may differ from what you see there. We read no Perplexity statement on this difference, so treat it as our own caution.
Does Perplexity show sources?
Yes, in our test. All 12 Perplexity answers in our test of 4 November 2026 listed exactly 10 sources. That test is small, and a listed source does not prove that Perplexity used it in the text.
What can go wrong with Perplexity
Our backup route for Perplexity is not independent. In all 6 of its test answers it used the same underlying route as the main route, so one failure can take out both. Perplexity has also been changing its developer products, so the model behind the route can change without notice. For your own site, Perplexity recommends allowing PerplexityBot in robots.txt.
If Perplexity gives no answer, we retry and use a backup route. Failed answers stay out of the count, and a system with too few answers is labelled Not measured.
Which scan includes Perplexity
Perplexity is only in the paid scan, which asks each question five times. The free scan does not include it.
How to read the result
You see a count: named in X of Y answers. Each cell opens the full answer from Perplexity, with your name marked and any sources that came with it.
What we do not promise
